Philip Davis is Professor of English at the University of Liverpool and the author of many books, including Bernard Malamud: A Writer's Life (2007). He took over editorship of The Reader from Reader Organisation Director Jane Davis in 2007. The magazine is the printed voice of the organisation, featuring new writing, reader recommendations and thought pieces and serves as a centre for readers and reading groups. Sarah is in charge of The Reader magazine production. In her words, "If we miss a deadline -- it's my fault". Alongside Jane, she founded the magazine in 1997 - they thought about calling it The Mersey and The Abercromby Pig but finally settled on The Reader - it has been in continuous publication ever since.
Angela Macmillan
Co-Editor and Get Into Reading Project Worker
Angela has been an editor of The Reader magazine since 1997 and manages correspondence with contributors and the editorial team. As a projecct worker, she specialises in groups for the elderly, including a well-established group at Hoylake Cottage Hospital.

Brian is Liverpool’s legendary literature lover, the man behind 'Ask The Reader' and possessor of incredible literary expertise and infectious enthusiasm. He helped bring The Reader into being and his continued support and passion for The Reader Organisation helped to bring it to where it is now.
